Farmland Public Library
Farmland Public Library is a small library in the Randolph County Community of Farmland, Indiana. Director Carrie Watson is a good friend of Morgan's First Gift Founder, Shirley Ertel. In response to the needs of Morgan's First Gift and the interest of community members, Carrie decided to partner FPL with MFG to create baby quilts for the layettes.
Morgan's First Gift flyers are posted in the library along with a donation basket. Many patrons comment that they would like to create a hand made baby item but don't have the time or don't know how. In response to these comments, Carrie found the pattern for the Super Sized Nine Patch and created a corresponding tutorial.
Interested parties can access the pattern, watch the tutorial and create the baby quilts on their own, or they can attend one of the library sponsored Morgan's First Gift sewing days held at the library.
Visit the Farmland Public Library web-site to find out more about upcoming sewing dates.
